Piat Profile

        Piat is a 4th-class municipality in the province of Cagayan. It is estimated to be in a total of around 19,118.9254 hectares, more or less, with around 5,271 households, in a meager population of around 24,540 within a total of 4,705 families, more or less. Its major income-generating activity is agriculture and farming is the main engine. It has also a very minimal internal revenue allocation (IRA) of around P42,520,887.00, with some locally-sourced income of around P3,747,236.92, to-combine a total of P46,268,123.93. However, because of the wise-spending strategy of our unbeatable mayor, Hon. Leonel C. Guzman, the LGU-Piat has spend only around P30,832,709.47, with which, the remaining 15 million pesos, more or less, goes to the local savings of LGU*2010.
        Piat has only 18 barangays, and its capital is Poblacion 2, of which, is the seat of our newly-built Balay Ya Maru. Piat is within the second conressional district, with a meager 12,983 registered voters.
        Piat is envisioned to be Pilgrimage Centre of the North. A friendly town with unified people where a neighbor is a brother and everyone is an ally for peace and prosperity; Piat is a town, whereby government and people are equally the benefactors and beneficiaries of the fruits of becoming pilgrim-friendly-town; every Piateñeos should-be free from the bondage of poverty and misery of illness; free from injustice, dishonesty and corruption.
        LGU-Piat is bound to institutionalize governmental affairs as a common venture – a joint partnership between the community and the people running the government in order to restore the credibility of the LGU as an institution that is created for transparency, honesty and integrity. So that, we, in the LGU-Piat, promise to provide prompt and dedicated service with a genuine and transparent disposition for the benifit of all-Piatiñeos.
