The Basic Computer Literacy is a 12-hour Seminar WorkShop that include a hands-on experience for the participants. To make them familiarize with the computer hardware, the module's design is to orient the participants so that they will be able to work-with and partially maintain the computer independently.
In a quietly religious explanation of components, devices and theories, the module also include a brief history of computer. Since most participants has no idea of a computer machine; the first and foremost question is "What is a computer?"
The computer is a general-purpose machine that processes data according to a set of instructions that are stored internally either temporarily or permanently. The computer and all equipment attached to it are called "hardware". The instructions that tell it what to do are called "software" or "program software".
The important aspect of this-module, basically, is to be able to orient and to attempt to persuade the barangay-officials in using computer machine in place of the typewriter. By encouraging them of this project, we can also prepare the barrio-folks to appreciate the ever-changing technology brought about by the advent of Information Age.
