***The Barangay Computerization Project of Piat, Cagayan was an idea of Dado Caluya. In January 17, 2006, the-proponent submitted a project proposal regarding the matter to Mayor Nel Guzman. Right after the elections in 2007, Mayor Nel provided almost all barangay with a new set-p4 computer machines. In February 2008, the Basic Computer Literacy Seminar Workshop was completed with 317-participants attended. To-day there were 338-participants, inluding all barangay secretaries and treasurers.
In November of the-same year, the-proponent again submitted an Advance Computer Technology Seminar Workshop. Through the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC-President Hon. Angel Baluga) they facilitated the ABC-Resolution 01. Majority of the Barangay Captains set-aside funds on the matter at the recommendation of mayor Nel Guzman.
Said ABC-Resolutions #1 objective was for the training and re-orientation of all barangay secretary and treasurer. This project was accomplished in June 25, 2009.
And, now, the Barangay Computerization Project, was successful as it maybe considered, since all barangays in Piat has acquired at least two-computer sets complete with appropriate printer for the purpose. This is first in the province of Cagayan.
As this develop, the backbone of a technology-driven rural areas in Piat is ready for the next step to realize Rural Information and Technology Development Project in the very near future.
